Five Cardinals Farm

Regenerative Farming

Regenerative farming is a holistic approach that seeks to restore soil health by mimicking natural ecosystems. Instead of relying on synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and tillage, regenerative farmers use practices that work with nature to build soil fertility, prevent erosion, and promote biodiversity. Here are some of our farming methods.

No Chemicals

We do not use any harmful chemicals in our fields, garden beds, or anywhere on the farm.

Pasture Rotation

Despite only operating on a few acres, we still rotate our animals to allow the land to rest and for the animals to have the best possible forage.

No anti-biotics

We use more natural methods to treat and prevent disease for all of our animals.

No-till garden beds

We practice no-till or low till farming. Tilling the soil every year has been proving to disturb the soil microbiome which affects the overall soil health and plant health.
